NB Historic Association Participates in Needs Assessment
After successfully raising the funds to purchase and begin renovations on a unique canal-era home (one of few left in the area), the NBHA was looking for some direction. Together with help from the New Bremen Foundation, the Association’s board invited Mark Sundlov of the Ohio Historic Society’s Local History Office to participate in a needs assessment for the organization. On June 28th, the Historic Association spent the day with Mark discussing the organization as a whole, the Lullemon House Museum located across from the Post Office, and the new house they recently purchased. Mark will provide the NBHA with a 3-5 page needs assessment, containing suggestions for development. At that time, the NBHA will discuss further the plans for the canal-era home, or the Pape House as it is being referred to because of it’s history with the Pape family. The Foundation is happy to work with the Historic Association on this process, focusing on providing leadership and setting up a sustainable long-term plan.

The “Pape House” is one of only a few canal-era homes left in the area.
The NBHA wanted to preserve the home for its historical and architectural signficance.
