Area Charities
This is a partial list of area
charities; others may be
available.
Restricted Funds
The Restricted Funds consist of three different types of funds that offer donors more specific funding options. Below are the three types, with general descriptions:
Field of Interest Fund
This fund offers individuals or local groups the option to support a particular field of interest. Examples include organizations supporting educational foundations and scholarships, healthcare organizations, and the visual and performing arts.
The donor designates the particular Field of Interest he or she wishes to contribute to. The funds will then be used to support only the charities within that particular Field of Interest.
Donor Advised Fund
This fund allows a donor to advise how the income of the fund is to be used for charitable purposes. Foundation Trustee Guidelines apply to each funding type and may differ in each scenario.
Donor Established Designated Fund
This fund is directed to support specific local non-profit organizations. These include churches, school programs and other area associations. This type of fund is normally used to target specific charitable giving according to the donor’s wishes.
